The pictures of Courtney and Marilou’s late summer wedding reveal a joyful and uniquely personal celebration. “The highlight of our day was truly just being able to celebrate and see all of our loved ones in the same space, celebrating our love for each other. It was the moment that we knew this is the beginning of forever together,” says Courtney. “From the ceremony [and] reception to the dance floor, it was all such a highlight for us.”
The Thursday wedding at Stonefields Estate was full of meaningful, special touches. Since Courtney is a florist—she is owner of Pretty Pots Flower Shop in Stittsville—she made a statement and wowed everyone with her striking florals. And since Marilou loves and plays hockey, there were hockey-puck table numbers. Instead of a guest book, friends and family members signed a jersey that is now framed and hanging above the bar in the couple’s new home.
An eye-catching wine pyramid, made by Courtney’s dad and Marilou, held dozens of filled wine glasses. “Anyone who knows me, knows how much I love wine,” Courtney points out. “It was also everyone’s favour for coming to the wedding.” The backdrop for the sweetheart table was also extra special. It was built by Courtney’s dad for the big day and, together, Courtney and Marilou covered it in artificial grass and hung their NEON sign on it. The message—It was always you—was significant for these two: “We have known each other for quite some time and dated three times, but we always knew we were to be together.”
Not only did this happy couple make their day one of a kind, they also held it at Stonefields, a venue Courtney describes as “a magical and beautiful place. It made it feel like a dream.”
