As a COVID bride, I wanted to go all out and have an extravagant wedding,” Amanda says of the festivities to celebrate her marriage to Tarek. Bridal mission accomplished! This summer wedding absolutely dazzled. “Everyone kept telling us (even today), that it was the most entertaining wedding they had ever been to; they were never bored,” she notes. The deluxe August affair included plenty of live entertainment and cultural elements.
Since this bride and groom have Lebanese and Italian heritage, traditions from both their backgrounds were incorporated into the day. “As a Lebanese culture, we have drummers who come to the
bride’s house escorting her out of her parents’ home. This signifies that the bride/daughter is leaving the home [for] her new home with her husband. The drummers are also incorporated during the wedding reception introducing us as a couple.”
Along with these professional drummers, an accordion player and a belly dancer also entertained guests. “The entertainment was so fun. We did not stop dancing,” Amanda says.
The style was romantic chic, the colour palette included white, gold and pastel pinks, and the day was everything the bride had hoped for. Despite the stress and difficulty of planning her wedding during the pandemic, she adds, “One thing I learned was everything always works out. It was the most perfect day; I wouldn’t have changed anything about it.”
