Guests only had two months notice for Kylie and Jordan’s cozy affair at Stonefields Estate. “Having been together for over ten years, our friends and family have been on us for years to tie the knot,” Kylie notes. “Instead of getting engaged and taking part in the traditional pre-wedding festivities with a big wedding party, we decided on New Year’s Eve to quietly plan our wedding and do it on our own terms.” That meant keeping their engagement a secret for six months. After having some fun with family and friends who continued to push Jordan to propose, the couple finally let everyone in on the news by hand delivering wedding invitations to each guest. In all, 40 of their favourite people took part in the celebration. “Our focus was on showing our friends and family a great time. They just needed to show up and enjoy an evening of delicious food and drink,” says the bride. “To us the event was a thank you to them, for being such a huge part of our decade together as a couple.”
Keeping things under wraps also allowed Kylie and Jordan to ensure their day was a true reflection of how they wanted things—relaxed and lighthearted. They hosted a laid-back but meaningful ceremony outdoors just before dusk. For dinner, the long King’s Table they shared with their guests was inspired by the oversized kitchen table Jordan grew up with. “Everyone was always welcome to take a seat at that table for a drink and a chat. We wanted to recreate that welcoming feeling.”
Their décor included natural elements such as wooden harvest tables, everlasting flowers, and soft fabrics. There was also an ode to Jordan’s hunting background. “WEDECOR created a showstopping piece centered around one of Jordan’s prized European deer mounts.” It is now displayed in their home as a lasting reminder of their wedding day.
