From the Tacori engagement rings La Maison D’or’s Jessica Harden helped each of them design through their romantic backyard dinner party, Marlee and Sarah say their wedding “truly felt like us.”
It was lovely.
The early autumn celebration in Marlee’s parents’ backyard was full of meaningful touches. Though the in-person guest count dropped from 100 to 20 due to COVID, both virtual and on-site
guests were included in significant ways. For instance, as a way to keep friends and family members close, in spirit, on the big day, the couple sent out note cards to the entire 100-person list, asking people to send them back notes of love and advice. “We read these cards after our first look and in the limo ride to the ceremony.”
That first look took place in the stunning garden at the Rosemount Inn. “The anticipation of waiting to see each other will not be something we forget,” they note. Another unforgettable moment
unfolded during the ceremony, since they incorporated a ring warming: “We had our wedding bands tied together in a dish that we passed along to everyone in attendance. We asked everyone to take a moment with our rings, and ‘warm’ them with love and good wishes. They were then passed to us when it was time for the ring exchange. We love that our wedding bands hold so much meaning and support from our family and friends.”
The livestreamed ceremony was followed by a virtual cocktail party. “We had the opportunity to say hello to everyone online and raise a glass as a newly married couple!”
The ceremony was their favourite part of the day. Not only did they customize it and write their own vows, a close family friend married them. Happily, all six of their bridesmaids, from four different provinces, were able to be there. “Every moment felt intimate,” these newlyweds say, adding they’re grateful to have shared the special day with family and friends near and far.
