Bailey and Jaime Goldman’s big day was transformed into an elegant—and timeless—affair. Two dates, three pets, oodles of style, expert vendors, COVID restrictions and an historic venue all contributed to a dazzling special occasion.
What the bride wanted was a winter wedding. “The main theme that I was going for was a winter wonderland,” she explains, adding, “I did a lot of ‘Pinteresting’ and found that I was really drawn to the whimsical look of the steel/dusty blue and silver palette, especially with the snow.”
Plans went sideways, though. “Our wedding date was January 22, 2022, at The Grand Hotel. Unfortunately, the pandemic caused another lockdown.” Instead, she and Jaime had a small ceremony and reception at her in-laws’ that day and rescheduled the main event for April 9. The decision paid off. “A lot of the stress and nerves leading up to the wedding were gone as we were already married,” Bailey notes, adding The Grand Hotel was incredibly accommodating. “Steve Moodie, in particular, was a dream to have overseeing our event.” He even allowed the couple’s two cats to stay on site for photos. Sharon House was responsible for the décor and Bailey says it was “breathtaking. She and my mom worked so tirelessly to make my vision come to life and she went above and beyond to make sure every single detail was absolutely perfect.”
Other highlights included her uncle performing the ceremony and her father walking her down the aisle. But the absolute favourite part of the day was the horah, she says. A traditional dance performed at Jewish weddings, the horah involves the bride and groom being lifted into the air on chairs while their family and friends dance in circles around them. “Hava Nagila was played live by our wonderful band,” Bailey says. “Everyone got so into it and it was so much fun!”
